Crimes over the past month on the Coldhurst Ward

Good evening from your Coldhurst and Westwood Policing Team

I just wanted to give you an update on Crime in the area over the past month, and while it may appear quite a lot , there are large percentages of the figures from the same locations like the Royal Oldham Hospital which covers various type of assaults due to unwell patients who occasionally get aggressive and also stores like B & Q, Aldi & B & M which tend to receive most of the shoplifting thefts.

Here’s some of the main figures along with a quick breakdown of key locations as mentioned above:

Actual Bodily Harm: 14

Common Assault: 33

Possession of Illegal drugs: 8

Harassment Alarm & Distress: 11

Assorted Thefts: 19

Threats to kill: 6

Burglaries: 3

Other/ mixed reasons: 46

ROH had 28 crimes reported

B & Q, Aldi and B & M had 9 thefts

Most crimes are across a wide area of our ward, so there’s no specific target area to focus on, however please remember the main areas for our crime records are either at the hospital or retails parks; so please don’t worry if some of the figures look alarming as they’re generally widespread apart from the hospital.
